Sorority Recruitment Ideas

Hey guys! I can’t believe that I only have four full days until I move to a completely different town for college! With that said, that means I will be starting sorority recruitment in a week! At Arkansas, there are eleven Panhellenic sororities, and I am so excited to visit each and every one of them! Every college has a different style for recruitment, but I will explain what happens during recruitment at Arkansas. Each day, they give us a t-shirt, so all we have to do is find cute bottoms and shoes to wear. We have two days of Conversation Round, Philanthropy Round, and Sisterhood Round. Preference Day is the last day of recruitment, and the next day is Bid Day! I am so excited to see where I end up, and I can’t wait to meet all my future sisters!

Bottoms:

Since we get t-shirts everyday, I only got cute bottoms, and I did not get any tops for recruitment.

I got this really cute skort from a local boutique! I love the color, and I love the little bow in the front! Skorts are an essential for recruitment because they look really cute, and they usually cover more than normal skirts do.

I got these cute off white shorts from another local boutique called Vertage! These shorts are so cute and comfy, and they have pockets!! I love how they cinch at the waist, sort of giving the paperbag shorts appeal, which is a really popular trend right now! They aren’t any plain shorts, as they have a little bow in the front and they have really cute detailing!

I got this suede skirt almost a year ago at Forever 21, and I wore it for my senior pictures. Since we don’t know what the color of our t-shirts will be until the night before each day, I am bringing this as a backup incase it matches any of the shirts we get!

This is another really cute skort I got at Vertage, and I love it! It is a little big at the waist, so I am currently getting it altered right now. Since this is more of a neutral color, I know it will definitely go with a shirt and look great. Of course, we love pockets, so I am really excited to have pockets!

I got this really cute suede skirt from a friend who was cleaning out her closet, and I love it! Back again with the pockets, as usual, but it is definitely essential to have at least one black skirt/skort for recruitment!

If you are going to wear a denim skirt, it would probably be best to do it on the first day of recruitment, as that is the most relaxed day. As you advance throughout the week, you will have to dress up more. A denim skirt is definitely an essential for recruitment week, as you can never go wrong with a denim skirt! I got this a long time ago from SheIn, and it surprisingly still fits, and it is still in one piece! So if you ever are wondering about the quality of SheIn, I definitely recommend because there stuff always lasts for me!

These are bottoms to wear for Bid Day!! On Bid Day, you will wear a t-shirt and comfortable bottoms, and you will end up getting a shirt from your sorority house anyway! I recommend a tennis skirt, jean shorts, or athletic shorts! I definitely say go for athletic material (tennis skirt or athletic shorts) over jean shorts, especially if it’s hot during Bid Day!

Preference Round:

For Preference Round, this will be the day where you are the most dressed up! Colleges usually recommend a cocktail dress, homecoming dress, or a dress you would wear to a wedding! These are some dresses that would definitely be appropriate for this round!

Accessories:

Since everyone will be wearing the same t-shirts during recruitment at Arkansas, it is really important for us to accessorize! It gives us an opportunity to express ourselves a little more, and it also could help during conversations at the parties!

Shoes:

During recruitment, you will be walking A LOT!! It is important to wear cute shoes, but also make sure they are really comfy! You might even want to consider bringing a comfy pair of shoes to wear in between parties incase you start getting blisters.

These shoes are really cute and comfy! They have a heel inside, so they provide a little height! I got these from DSW, but they are Steve Madden!

Nike Air Force One’s are cute and so comfortable! They go with every outfit for sure!

Snake skin print is definitely in right now, and they look so cute on sandals! These are some Steve Madden platform sandals that look great with every outfit basically!

I will definitely admit that I am obsessed with all Steve Madden shoes. They’re so comfortable, and they are really the only sandals that fit my extremely narrow feet. The brown sandals are just really cute, and they don’t give me blisters at all! The black sandals are platform sandals, and they are surprisingly so comfortable! I wore them when I went to New York, and my feet didn’t hurt at all.

For Preference Round, I definitely recommend heels or wedges. I don’t feel comfortable in heels at all, but I LOVE wedges. These definitely give me a lot of height, and they are super comfortable and easy to walk in. I wore these to my graduation, and my feet did not hurt at all! Also, I got no blisters :). I got these from DSW, but you can find wedges anywhere really!

If you want to bring a pair of comfy shoes incase your nice shoes feel uncomfortable, I definitely recommend Birkenstocks! Yes, they are a little pricey, but they last so long! I have two pairs, and I wear them everyday! You can even get the rubber Birkenstocks for a lot cheaper (they’re $40)!

I hope this was a little helpful if you are going through sorority recruitment soon! I am just going based off the videos I have seen, Pinterest, and just from what I have heard from Arkansas. Just remember, it is different at every college, and everyone is a little nervous! Just be yourself, and you’ll end up in a house that is perfect for you!

xoxo,

Fo♡
