Hey guys! It has been a while since I’ve done a travel blog post because I have not really traveled recently. Last month, I participated in this program called NSLC (National Student Leadership Conference), and I was at UC Berkeley for nine days. I chose to go to the business/entrepreneurship camp because I really want to major in business in college, and I felt like this would give me a sneak peek to what I’m signing up for. I hope you guys enjoy this post, as this was definitely one of my favorite trips.
Just a disclaimer, I did go to this camp for business purposes, so my main focus was not taking pictures. We did do a little sightseeing, and I was able to have a free day to walk around a little in Berkeley.
I had an extremely early flight to San Francisco. I left for the airport at 4 am and my flight left at 5:50 am. Since I’m two time zones ahead of San Francisco, I was basically up for 24 hours by the time I slept that day.
Where I live, we don’t have many stores that most people my age shop at. Literally, all we have is H&M, Forever 21, and American Eagle. I was so excited when I went to Urban Outfitters and Brandy Melville. I had never been to Brandy Melville before and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
One morning, we woke up at 5:30 (gross I know) to go to a ropes course that had the prettiest view ever! It was so cold and windy because we were right next to the Pacific Ocean, but there was a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
We toured AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants, and I thought it was pretty cool! I have only been to two baseball stadiums in my life (this and Fenway Park), and even though I’m not the biggest baseball fan, this was still an experience! We were right on the Bay, so it was chilly once again but totally worth it!
My friend and I were finally given free time, so we walked around in our designated boundaries. We got some Boba tea (I don’t have that where I live so I got it almost every day), and we took some pictures. Yes, I am wearing a sweatshirt because it was a little windy. Yes, I am wearing shorts even though you can’t see them.
Our last tourist stop was Fisherman’s Wharf, and it was incredibly cold that day. First of all, there was no sun, and we were right on the water. I wore a sweatshirt and jeans, but I ended up buying a hoodie to wear over my sweatshirt because it was that cold! We went to Pier 39 earlier in the week, and in my opinion, Fisherman’s Wharf was a lot better because there was a lot more to do. We went to In-N-Out for dinner because I don’t have that there, and we also went to Krispy Kreme, which I also don’t have anymore because it closed. Despite how cold it was, this was definitely my favorite!
Thank you so much for reading this blog post! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed this trip! I know it seems like I don’t have anything where I live, but I can assure you we have a few things! My next blog post could possibly be school related, as I only have three weeks left of summer. So get ready for Back to School season!
