Another beauty face-off. This time, I am comparing two concealers from the same brand. The Tarte shape tape concealer and the Tarte amazonian clay waterproof 12-hour concealer. These both rock in the coverage they provide, and manage to survive through a horrible day of school.
Since the shape tape concealer is newer, they do not have the same variation in shades as the amazonian clay concealer has. Really, I am the shade ‘rich honey’. It is the darkest shade and it happens to fix my complexion perfectly, not leaving any weird color on my face in pictures. The color ‘mahogany’ looks better if I only put it on pimples and blemishes, rather than under my eyes. when I put them under my eyes, it looks okay at first, but throughout the day, it just casts a yellow tint under my eyes. I prefer to put the amazonian clay concealer under my eyes and sometimes on blemishes, but the shape tape concealer works for blemishes as well.
The shape tape concealer is on the top, and the amazonian clay concealer is on the bottom. As you can see, the shape tape concealer has a yellow tint to it that just doesn’t work for under my eyes.
The applicator for the shape tape concealer is bigger than your normal concealer, but it really helps in directing where you want your concealer to go. Also, it works for contouring and highlighting.
The amazonian clay concealer comes like a lipstick, which I didn’t think I would like at first, but I actually love it. It is really good for on-the-go touch-ups, and it gives you more control of applying your concealer.
I think I prefer the amazonian clay concealer because I can use it under my eyes and for blemishes. When the shape tape concealer comes out with the shade ‘rich honey’ then I might reconsider.
