It’s finally here! The post where we figure out if it’s worth spending $24 or $8 on a single tube of the beloved mascara. Mascara brings a whole makeup look together. You can go from a 10/10 to a raccoon in .5 seconds just because of mascara. Mascara can make a person look ten times more awake than they actually are.
In this blog post, I compare two drugstore mascaras with two high end mascaras. Keep reading to figure out which one wins in the end!
Mascara #1: Benefit BAD Gal Lash Mascara
Ok, my eyelashes must be pretty weird because this mascara does not do anything with them at all. I’ve heard good reviews about this, so I decided to try it out. The brush (as pictured) is abnormally big. Maybe I just have small eyes, but I feel like I’m going to get mascara all over my eyelid. I use it every now and then, but not on a daily basis.
Mascara #2: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
I wasn’t really sure about this mascara at first because the first thought I have when I look at the wand is ‘clumps’. This mascara is the complete opposite of what I thought it would be. The formula is incredible and doesn’t leave a single clump behind, and lengthens my lashes so they are actually visible (for once). The only problem is that the formula is wet, and it feels really weird at first, but I am quite used to it now.
Mascara #3: L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara
The first time I used this, I actually borrowed it from a friend one day. This thing worked magic that day. The first step (white wand) is a volumizing primer that really makes those lashes pop. The second step is the actually mascara, that goes on to cover up the left over primer, while volumizing and lengthening your lashes. Of course, I had to go out and buy this. For some reason, it did not have the same effect on me as it did that one day, which really disappointed me.
Mascara #4: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
The only reason I have this mascara is because I casually made an emergency trip to target because I was in desperate need of waterproof mascara. I had seen this one on YouTube a couple of times, so I had to try it out. This is actually the best mascara I have ever used, and I’m pretty sure this is my third tube of it every since I bought it for the first time.
I’m pretty sure it was obvious which mascara won! I’m okay with just paying around $8 than spending around $24. Sometimes, high end isn’t always the best in some categories (in my opinion).
